MISSION

The Koshlong Lake Association's goal is to protect, preserve and enhance Koshlong Lake and its watershed for quality use by future generations. To do this we will work to unify the lake's cottagers, homeowners and users in order to confront the key issues involving the lake and its watershed. Working in cooperation with federal, provincial, and local government entities, educational institutions, foundations, Camp Wanakita and other resources, the Koshlong Lake Association (KLA) will contribute financial and human resources to fulfill this goal and where deemed appropriate.

We will achieve this by:

  • providing information and education as a tool for our members which will be disseminated by means of our communications tools including e-blasts, Wavelength and our website
  • working towards protecting the environment in all ways possible including but not limited to participation in the Lake Partner Program for lake water quality testing
  • liaising with local, provincial and federal Government agencies and individuals as deemed necessary
  • improving property owner security wherever possible
  • organizing social events for our members and their guests throughout the traditional cottage season such as Canada Day Fireworks, Fishing Derby, Fun Day and others as announced
  • protecting the ecological resources of the lake
  • developing and protecting the fish resources and their breeding areas wherever possible
  • promoting safe boating practices
  • implementing approved programs proposed by the Board of Directors and the Membership
  • annual creation and distribution of Wavelength
  • investigating and/or acting upon other issues as deemed necessary
