About Us

Koshlong Lake Association has been in existence since 1963 and currently has an active membership of 200+ families consisting of both seasonal and permanent residents, on Koshlong Lake near Haliburton. The KLA is the voice of its members regarding political, social and environmental concerns. We support FOCA (Federation of Ontario Cottagers) and have an active Lake Steward program. We keep our members advised by plublishing an annual Wavelength magazine and providing regular email updates when needed.

The Board of Directors is made up of the volunteers, which co-ordinate an AGM in late June at Camp Wannakita.

Some of the services provided by KLA include:

  • Protect the ecological resources of the lake
  • Develop and protect the fish resources and their breeding areas
  • Promote safe boating, including boating practices
  • Implement specifically approved programs proposed by the Board of Directors and the Membership
  • Annual creation and distribution of Wavelength
  • Annual Fun Day at Camp Wannakita
  • Events including Fishing Derby, Dock Sale, etc.
  • Annual Canada Day Fireworks
  • Liaison with County and Provincial officials
  • Liaison with the Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association
  • Lake water quality testing
  • Lobby for Lake front Tax reform - WRAFT
  • Internet site - Weblength
  • Quaterly email newsletter
  • Other issues investigated and acted upon as required

We need your help to make the KLA work for you. If you would like to get involved and assist with our activities, or have ideas for programs, please contact us.
